Tara & Cliff were gifted with the most generous wedding giveaway from Old Broadwater Farm and I was honoured to be one of the vendors to give to this special and deserving couple. You see, Tara's family were confronted with her Dad Jim's illness in 2012 and when Tara heard of the competition after his passing in 2015, she wrote to OBF explaining their families hardship & how fiancé Cliff had given up absolutely everything to come to WA and help Tara & her family on the other side of the country.

Hearing this, her sister Amy thought.. well, that's only half the story & decided to write her own entry on behalf of her sister which begins like this..

"I recently read my Sister Tara’s entry into this life changing competition. In true Tara form, all she talks about is how hardworking, dedicated and sacrificing her fiancé Cliff has been. While all this is true, she not once mentions her same doing. This inspired me to write an entry on their behalf, to tell the other side of the story and to convey Tara’s incredible generous and loving nature which she so modestly left out of her entry."

As I reversed out of my puddle soaked driveway in Dunsborough, windscreen wipers on full speed to make my way to photograph Tara before the wedding. I was honestly worried about how she would be feeling about the weather and hoped that it wasn't going to put a dampener on their day (pardon the pun.) As I knocked on the door I heard laughter coming from inside of the gorgeous cottage and was greeted with a big smile and a cuddle. Nothing was going to wipe that smile from her face. Throughout the morning, the sun continued to push through the clouds giving us all hope that they could keep the ceremony in the rose garden that they loved so much. Surely enough, all credit to her father Jim, the sun shone down on Tara & Cliff throughout the ceremony with only the tiniest sprinkle of rain and as timing would have it, the heavens opened once the family portraits were finished and all the guests were inside the marquee. So Perfect. Now Tara is a true adventurous bride and even without the gumboots she's bought for such a situation, she marched her heels and lace dress over fences and through puddles that some brides would only have nightmares about. A country bride. My favourite! Thanks for being such epic clients and not letting a single thing worry or upset you throughout our rainy little portrait mission. I hope you love these photos as much as I loved being a part of your day. All the best to the both of you, I know that amazing things are coming your way.
